FLORENCE — Kaiti Harper tossed seven shutout innings and Kelsey Pruitt homered and drove in two runs as the South Florence softball team defeated North Augusta 6-0 in a Class 4A District VI playoff game Saturday.
It was South’s second straight shutout in the playoffs. The Bruins defeated Aiken 11-0 on Thursday.
Ashley Young led South with four hits.

DARLINGTON — Scarlett Morgan’s game-winning single to score Kentesha Jenkins with two outs in the seventh inning helped the defending Class 3A champions advance in the playoffs.
“It’s a confidence builder for the team to get a win over a quality team,” Darlington coach Tim Wiley said.
“That should help us as we go further in the playoffs.”
Sarah Hardee picked up the win, striking out nine and allowing only five hits.

BAMBERG — The Wild Gators used a six-run sixth inning to knock off top-seeded Bamberg-Ehrhardt.
With the score tied 1-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Chessie Miller gunned down a runner trying to score with two outs.
Then, Miller started Lake View’s sixth with a double, and the Wild Gators added four straight hits in the six-run inning.

JOHNSONVILLE — Rachel Gaster got the job done on the mound and at the plate for the Flashes.
Gaster tossed a five-inning no hitter, her third of the year. She also had three hits, including an inside-the-park- homer and drove in four runs in the win.
