PREP SOFTBALL: Robert E. Lee improves to 31-0
MANNING — Hannah Hancock scored from second on Katie McElveen’s infield single in the top of the seventh and Robert E. Lee beat Laurence Manning 1-0 on Friday in high school softball.
The Cavaliers improve to 31-0 on the season.
Hancock led off the inning with a double and was still at second with two outs on McElveen’s grounder to short.
Jordan Atkinson got the win, allowing four hits and striking out five. Each team had four hits.
Jayme Douglas was 2-for-3 for the Cavaliers, who play at Wilson Hall on Monday.

TURBEVILLE — Sloane Welsh gave up just a hit in five innings and East Clarendon banged out 14 base hits to run-rule Cross in a Class A playoff game.
The Wolverines scored seven times in the third and then put the game away with nine runs in the fourth.
