PREP SOFTBALL: Johnsonville shuts out Branchville
JOHNSONVILLE — Rachel Gaster tossed Johnsonville’s third no-hitter in three playoff games and the Flashes got at least one RBI from eight different hitters in their 10-0 softball win over Branchville on Thursday in five innings.
Gaster walked one and Struck out seven. She also was 2-for-2 with two triples and two RBI.
Taylor Bennett was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two stolen bases.

LAKE VIEW — Avonlea Cooke pitched six shutout innings and Amber Suggs drove in three runs as the Wild Gators won the fourth straight district championship.
“I’m proud of the team,” Lake View coach Chad Huggins said. “We had a lot of young girls but we continued to improve.
Cooke allowed a hit in the first inning and then retired 16 consecutive batters in the win.
