The varsity softball team at McBee High School was ranked in the top five in Class A state all year long.

They ended their season in a tie with Indian Land High School for the region championship.

They lost the tiebreaker, but defeated Indian Land in order to face Chesterfield High in the upper state championship.

Since Chesterfield remained undefeated in the upper state championship bracket, McBee was forced to defeat Chesterfield twice in order to advance.

The Lady Panthers managed a 13-4 victory over the Lady Rams in game one and forced a tiebreaker game.

However, the Lady Panthers fell 2-0 in the second game.

The win sent Chesterfield to the state title game and ended McBee’s impressive season.

McBee has no seniors on the team, so all players will be returning next season.
