HEMINGWAY - The Carvers Bay Lady Bears Softball Team kicked off its 2009 season by winning the sixth annual Latta High School Preseason Softball Tournament. The following teams participated in the four-day tournament: Latta, Loris, Aynor, McBee, Dillon, East Clarendon, Green Sea Floyds, Carvers Bay, Johnsonville, Hannah Pamplico, Lamar, and Lake View. Carvers Bay Lady Bears beat Loris 3-1 to win the Championship game.
