Pee Dee players take part in last high school soccer match

SPARTANBURG — The North Boys claimed a 3-1 win while the North Girls scored in the 83rd minute to salvage a 1-1 tie in the 20th-annual North-South Soccer Classic on Saturday.
In the girls’’ match, Randall Dominguez of Brookland-Cayce High School scored in the 5th minute to put the South up 1-0. 
Despite a wide advantage in shots for the North, that lead held until Allie Johns of Lexington High School knocked in the tying goal with less than seven minutes remaining.
Wilson High School defender Leah Hawkins started for the South squad and accounted for one of the South’s eight shots.  South Florence product Markie Stingel also played up front for the South team.
In the boys’ match, the North’s Ryan Fielden scored in the 15th minute on an assist from Corey Parks of Northwestern High School.
Wilson’s Adam Crysel assisted on the South’s tying score in the 20th minute when he fed Erik Jaramillo of Beaufort High School.
Eric Fielden of Fort Mill put the North up 2-1 in the 41st minute, and then South Pointe High School’s Garrett Keogh scored the North’s final goal in the 57th minute.
West Florence defender Tyler Dunmyer also started for the South boys’ team.
