Just two days after winning a state championship, Myrtle Beach’s Matt Smith and Dillon’s L’Twane Thompson were back to work.  The duo are both playing in this weekend’s North/South All-Star Game at Doug Shaw Stadium.

The pair, representing Team South, practiced twice today, and will practice twice everyday until Saturday’s 12:30pm kickoff.  Both Smith and Thompson stay with the rest of the players all week, and will get to do some extracurricular activities around the Grand Strand, like go out to eat and visit the aquarium.

Both acknowledged that this is a fun week, but they have a little bit of a championship hangover.

“I haven’t got much sleep, hopefully, I’ll have a little more by Saturday,“ admits Smith.

“This is been great coming off of state, then being able to come down here,“ says Thompson. “Being the last team in AA alive, now it will be great to play in the year’s last game.“

But it’s not just about fun, both of the players have a lot of impressing to do in front of college scouts.

“It’s really important, I want to show everybody that I can play against the best,“ says the Seahawk, Smith.  “A lot of people doubt my size.“

“I don’t have any offers yet,“ says the Wildcat.  “If I come out here and show off my talent, I might leave with an offer.“

The North/South All-Star Game is Saturday at Shaw Stadium, kickoff at 12:30.
