Preseason Terrific 13 - #10 Wilson Tigers

It did not take long for Wilson to have their chances at a championship repeat taken away from them.  A week one brawl with Lake City kept the Tigers from participating in the postseason.

That long layoff is what has motivated the Tigers in ‘09.

“It really hurt our school and our community,“ said head coach Darryl Page. “We’re accustomed to playing in the playoffs, hopefully we will be back.“

The Tigers are loaded with seniors who played as sophomores, so they know the ups of winning the state title, and the downs of not being able to defend it.

Wilson returns its starting quarterback - Maliek McCall - who missed all of last year because of his actions during the brawl.  He will be the focus of the Tiger offense.
