The Conway Tiger baseball team failed in to win its first ever state title, losing at home to Boiling Springs 5-1 in the AAAA Championship game.

Wildcats still alive in 2A baseball finals

GILBERT — Behind three home runs and six strong innings from Travis Murphy, Dillon took game two on the road Wednesday to send the Class 2A baseball state championship series to its final game with a 5-1 win.
The Wildcats tied the best-of-three series at 1-1. Game three is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at West Florence High School.

Gilbert gets leg up on Dillon in 2A baseball series

DILLON — Dillon cut Gilbert’s lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning, but a home run in the top of the sixth put the Indians up three and they held on for the 4-1 win in game one of the 2A baseball finals Monday.
The second game of the best-of-three series is scheduled for Wednesday at Gilbert.

Philip Bethea gave up just two hits and struck out seven while Quentin Gaddy was 4-for-4 with three RBI to help Latta blank Allendale-Fairfax 11-0 on Friday to avoid elimination in the Class A baseball playoffs.

Bruins rout Wilson

South Florence’s baseball team entered Wednesday’s matchup with Wilson needing a win to keep pace with West Florence for the final playoff spot in Region 6-4A. The Bruins did that as Spencer Jordan tossed a one-hitter and South pounded 13 hits in the 13-0 win over the Tigers in five innings.

Dale Sylvester’s first home run of the season gave the West Florence baseball team its first lead of the night Tuesday against Wilson. His second homer, a grand slam, sent everyone home early and sealed a critical non-region win for the Knights.
