Trinity boys win SCISA 2A cross country title

COLUMBIA — The Trinity Collegiate boys team won its second straight SCISA Class 2A championship Saturday at Heathwood Hall.
The Titans placed a record six runners in the top 10 as they finished with 24 points, well ahead of The King’s Academy.
Trinity’s Zach Fuller (18:09), John Anderson (18:13) and Boone Aiken (18:18) finished second through fourth to lead the Titans’ charge.
Sam Waldrop (18:25) finished fifth and Zac Clements (19:25) was 10th to lead TKA.
The Byrnes Schools’ Jeremy Jones was sixth.
On the girls’ side, TKA was second and was led by Logan Grimsley’s ninth-place finish. Trinity seventh grader Allie Young finished 10th.

CHARLESTON — Matt Humphries finished fifth overall in the lower state championship and has qualified for Class 4A State Championship at Sandhills Research Park in Columbia on Nov. 7.
