Madness at Coker started Tuesday night

Without football, sports fans at Coker count down the days until basketball season.  On Tuesday night it officially began.

Fans packed Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium for Cokers brand of Midnight Madness.  The Coker family was able to meet the men’s and women’s basketball teams, enjoy short scrimmages by both teams, performances by the Cobra dance and cheerleading squads, while capping off the evening with the grand finale dunk contest by the Coker men.

Admission was free and there was lots of free food, prizes and giveaways.

Men’s coach Dan Schmotzer unveiled a talented group, led by two-time all-conference selection Mason Ambler.  Women’s coach Carol Meegan showed of her new team, led by returning starters Lotta Aaltonen and Henna Koponen.
