Local college roundup: FMU soccer teams to host Senior Days

FLORENCE — The Francis Marion University men’s and women’s soccer teams will hold their respective Senior Days this weekend.
The Patriot Men will entertain North Georgia College & State University today at 4 p.m. on the FMU Soccer Field.
Admission is free.
The FMU Women (2-11-1) will play host to Longwood University (8-6-0) on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Francis Marion men’s team is 7-3-3 overall and 2-1-2 in the Peach Belt Conference, while North Georgia is 5-5-0 and 1-2-0.
Prior to today’s match, FMU will recognize four seniors: goalkeeper and South Florence High School product Jeremy Crooks, defender Jared Beauchamp, and midfielders Alden Brooks and Kyle Clinton.
Prior to Sunday’s match, FMU will honor four seniors: goalkeeper Emily Brandenburg, midfielders Jennifer Dyer and Angela Salem, and defender Rachel Rubin.

Coker snaps losing streak
SPARTANBURG — Coker snapped its 19-match losing streak with a 3-1 win over Converse College in Conference Carolinas action.
The Cobras won the first set 25-13, Converse won the second 25-20 and Coker won sets three and four 25-22 and 25-17.
The win improves Coker to 2-21 overall, and 1-11 in the conference.
