ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Flagler took a 2-0 lead early in the second half and rode that advantage to a 3-1 win over Francis Marion on Saturday in Peach Belt Conference men’s soccer action.
The Patriots lose for only the second time in their past 15 PBC matches and finish the regular season 11-4-3 overall and 4-2-2 in the conference. FMU finishes fifth in the standings and must travel to face
Montevallo in a first-round match of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament on Tuesday.
Flagler (12-5-1, 7-1-0) wins the PBC regular-season title in its first year in the league.
FMU junior goalkeeper Clark Richeson made four saves in the loss. It marks the first time FMU has allowed three goals in a match this season, and the three scores exceed the total given up by the
Patriot defense in the past seven contests (two).
Coker men fall to St. Andrews
LAURINBURG, N.C. — Senior Tamas Szalai and junior Marbin Escobar each scored as host St. Andrews rallied to a 2-1 Conference Carolinas victory over Coker.
Coker (10-5-2, 4-5-1) enters the Conference Carolinas tournament as the No. 5 seed and will visit No. 4 seed and nationally-ranked Anderson on Tuesday (2 or 7 p.m.).
Coker scored the first goal of the game in the 18th minute on a quick series of passes. Jason McCann made a pass from the middle of the field over to Tyler Senecal who quickly centered the ball to junior Daniel Shrizad headed in the Cobras’ only goal.
Coker women shut out
LAURINBURG, N.C. — Six different players scored for St. Andrews in a 7-0 Conference Carolinas shutout against Coker.
Coker (0-17, 0-11) starting goalie Carrie Hudnell allowed all seven goals and had four saves on the afternoon. Reserve Margaret McCoy made one save.

Jaguars outlast Patriots
FLORENCE — Augusta State overcame a rally by Francis Marion with a devastating fourth game as the Jaguars claimed a 3-1 win.
Francis Marion (11-16, 3-8) was led by Amanda Mitchell with 15 kills and Ashlyn Underhill with 13 kills and 14 digs.
Cobras fall to Fleet
HARTSVILLE — Up 2-1, Coker was unable to finish off the Erskine Flying Fleet in Conference Carolinas action, losing 3-2.
A trio of Cobras had double-digit kills, with April Griggs leading the way with 13.
