COKER SOCCER: Mergena’s goal lifts Coker men

HARTSVILLE — Three second half goals, including the game winner by Marc Mergena with just 33 seconds remaining in the game, gave the Cobra men’s soccer team a 3-2 victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas soccer Saturday.
The win improves the regionally ranked Cobras to 9-2-2 overall, and 3-2-1 in conference play.
Mike Crook and Eric Stiefield also added goals for the Cobras.
Coker women suffer worst loss in school history
HARTSVILLE — Belmont Abbey rolled past Coker College with a 12-0 win.
The Crusaders Alana Ryczek and Connie Axiotis each had a hat trick as they handed the Lady Cobras their worst loss in school history. The loss drops the Cobras to 0-12 overall and 0-10.
