Both David Bennett and Gary Gilmore hoped to have the talent of two-sport star Justin Trapp on their teams next year.  But now Trapp may never step foot on the Coastal campus.

Coastal Carolina University signee Justin Trapp was selected in the 34th round by the Kansas City Royals in the 2009 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Trapp is a shortstop from Fairfield Central High School in Blair, SC, that also planned to play football at Coastal Carolina.

Trapp is expected to play for the South Carolina Select team in this weekend’s South Carolina Baseball All-Star Weekend on the Grand Strand.
