Behind Tar Heels star LaToya Pringle's 20 points and 12 rebounds, both season highs, the Tar Heels shook out of holiday mode in time to defeat Coastal Carolina 82-58 on Monday night.

CCU’s Fambrough Arrested Last Sunday

Coastal Carolina tight end Scott Fambrough was the latest Chanticleer to get in trouble with the law. Sunday November 11th, Fambrough was arrested for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

CCU Runner Earns National Honors

Coastal senior Diana Jepchirchir raced her way to All-America status at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, IN. Jepchirchir finished the 6K course 29th with a time of 20:55.8. The top 30 finishers plus the top 30 Americans earn All-America honors.

Washington enjoys first outing on defense

CONWAY ? After every game, Coastal Carolina football players meet with their position coaches as a group. Santini Washington had a decision on which group to go with. That?s because Washington, normally a starter at wide receiver, played on both sides of the ball Saturday against Gardner-Webb. With a thigh injury to Marrio Norman and an already depleted Coastal secondary, Washington was forced to play cornerback, a position he hadn?t played since he was a senior in high school, to help against the Bulldogs four and five receiver sets.

Tolbert makes most of shot

Mike Tolbert is a hard man to miss. He?s also a hard man to tackle. At 5-foot-10, 245 pounds, the Coastal Carolina running back won?t go down without a struggle whenever he has the ball. VMI found that out last week when Tolbert rumbled for a school-record 244 yards, including a Coastal-record 86-yarder in the 35-28 victory. Tolbert earned Big South offensive player of the week award for his efforts.
