Full plate of bowl activities awaits Clemson, USC
Bowl week began Friday for the Clemson University and University of South Carolina football teams. Both teams play in bowl games in Florida on New Year’s Day—the Tigers against Nebraska in the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl and the Gamecocks against Iowa in the Outback Bowl—and they will mix in practice and entertainment in the next five days.

Rivers scores 28, Clemson stays perfect
A couple of spurts was all No. 25 Clemson needed to keep its unbeaten record intact. K.C. Rivers scored 28 points and the Tigers easily overcame an early 12-point deficit on the way to beating mistake-prone Miami 91-72 Sunday night in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both teams.

Clemson is far from perfect. The 25th-ranked Tigers just seem to start every season that way under coach Oliver Purnell. Trevor Booker had 16 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots and Clemson beat North Florida 76-36 on Tuesday night to move to 11-0 for the third time in the past four seasons.
