Oh, brother: Hamlins to face each other Saturday
For one weekend at least, Jeannette and Mike Hamlin won’t have to decide which of their sons’ games they will attend. The couple’s three children, Michael, Markee and Marquis, will face each other Saturday when Clemson hosts S.C. State at Memorial Stadium.

Crimson Tide roll over Tigers
Nick Saban’s plan to bring No. 24 Alabama back to prominence looks way ahead of schedule. As for No. 9 Clemson, another big game ended with the Tigers on the losing end.
The Crimson Tide had little trouble rolling past Clemson 34-10 at the Georgia Dome on Saturday night, the biggest victory in coach Saban’s two seasons at Alabama.

Bowden lasts through turbulent times
Now, only days away from his 10th season, the coach some Clemson fans love to complain about isn’t going anywhere. Tommy Bowden’s contract ties him to the school through 2014, and he has the backing of his bosses and some of the slickest talent in college football.

Top Dawg glad son’s a Tiger

Bowden relying on Lake City product at linebacker
Scotty Cooper was thrust into a starting role for Clemson last year in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. The Lake City native rose to the occasion, making 10 tackles in the Tigers loss to Auburn. Coming into 2008, Cooper will be relied on for more than just one game. The sophomore is tops on the depth chart at Sam linebacker.

Mark Buchholz has kicked aside one sport at Clemson, and gained a higher profile in the other. Buchholz spent countless days without a break last summer and fall, working as a key midfielder for Tiger soccer before sprinting over to football practice as that team’s new placekicker.
Hamlin leads Clemson in senior season
Lamar product Michael Hamlin let one game decide his future. Before the Chick-fil-A Bowl, he told himself, if he played well, he’d go to the NFL Draft. If he played poorly, he’d return for his senior season. Seeing him back in purple and orange this weekend, you can tell what he thought about his performance.

Clemson starting defensive tackle Rashaad Jackson has undergone knee surgery to repair a torn quad tendon.

Clemson defensive tackle Rashaad Jackson needs surgery to fix a torn tendon and will be out until at least midseason. Tigers coach Tommy Bowden made the announcement Monday, two days after Jackson tore a quad tendon during a scrimmage. The school said surgery is scheduled for Tuesday.
Brown, Willard draw praise from Bowden
Two Eastern Carolina products are drawing high praise from Clemson coach Tommy Bowden in their first season in orange and purple. Loris’s Jonathan Willard and Cheraw’s Jaron Brown were both singled out by Bowden over the weekend.
