A former Florence County Sheriff’s deputy has pleaded not guilty to federal charges alleging he shot his adoptive mother and stepfather in 2006 so he could obtain money from their estate, according to federal court documents.

Four people — including a woman and her teenage son — were arrested in connection with the death of a 17-year-old boy who was gunned down in his home in April, according to a press release issued Wednesday by the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office.
