Taste of the Farm allows residents to sample local products

Tobacco barns subject of exhibit

Tobacco farming was once a way of life for many in the Pee Dee region. Today, farmlands in this area are no longer dominated by tobacco, though traces of the crops past dominance are evident. Tobacco barns dot our landscape, and a heritage trail in the honor of the crop runs from I-95 in Darlington County to US501 along the Grand Stand.

CCU job fair sets high hopes for Grand Strand sport tourism

Some students with Coastal Carolina University said they hope a career in sports could help boost the Grand Strand’s sports tourism. They attended a career fair on how to do just that on Wednesday.

Public hearing held for Myrtle beach airport expansion

Officials with The Horry County Departments of Airports met at the Horry County Government building to get community input on the proposed Terminal Capacity Enhancement Program at the Myrtle Bach International Airport.

McBride’s sales tax increase injunction rejected

An Horry County judge ruled against former Myrtle Beach mayor Mark McBride in circuit court. McBride filed a lawsuit against the city for improperly implementing the tourism development tax, also known as the penny tax.

Harrelson Boulevard Extension discussed, celebrated Thursday morning

Myrtle Beach and Horry County leaders gathered in Myrtle Beach Thursday morning to discuss constructing the Harrelson Boulevard extension project.
Officials with the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base Development Authority were also there.
