Johnsonville High boys, girls ready to bring home titles
The town of Johnsonville is home to only about 1,500 people, and all of them might be at the high school on Friday night. Both the baseball and softball teams are playing host to lower state championship games, with a berth in the state title game on the line.

L.A. Markham and Kayla Boles combined to allow three hits as the Florence-Darlington Tech softball team shut out Southeastern Community College in a doubleheader sweep Friday 9-0, 17-0.

Patriots knocked from PBC Tournament just shy of title game
Junior right-hander Toni Flessate tossed a five-hitter and drove in a pair of runs to carry third-seeded and 18th-ranked USC Aiken to a 3-1 win over seventh-seeded Francis Marion University, Sunday (April 19) in the final game of the losers’ bracket at the 2009 Peach Belt Conference Softball Tournament.
