The South Carolina Department of Commerce announced that the Town of Sellers was awarded a $940,000 Community Development Block Grant to improve water and sewer services.

Five Pee Dee community projects are slated to receive a portion of more than $10 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, according to the S.C. Department of Commerce.

Soliciting public input on community needs and priorities for development is part of the process of participating in the South Carolina Community Development Block Grant program, Mayor Louvenia Wright said.

The state treasurer’s office has announced it will withhold payments to nearly 20 municipalities — including Olanta, Quinby, Sellers, Andrews, Lynchburg and Atlantic Beach — until the towns and cities submit their annual audits.
