Crowd gathers in Florence for chance at bag of food

Seniors lined up across the parking lot, around the building corner and down Elm Street at Lighthouse Ministries Friday morning for a chance at a bag of food.  The parking lot at the ministries was full of both cars and people by 7:30 a.m. – an hour and a half before the event was slated to start.

Historic church property goes to Anglican Mission

The S.C. Supreme Court has given ownership of historic church property in Pawleys Island to the Anglican Mission of America, a group that split from the Episcopal church over the appointment of a gay bishop and same-sex marriage. The S.C. Supreme Court ruled that the 50-acre campus of All Saints Church, just off Kings River Road, does not belong to the Episcopal Church.
