THOMASVILLE, N.C. — The Florence RedWolves have been superb at home, but as coach Wes Davis pointed out after Saturday’s 12-3 loss to Thomasville, they still have to learn how to prepare better for road games.
Kumbatovic tosses gem against Tobs
The first game between the Florence RedWolves and Wilson Tobs wound up being a pitcher’s duel, with the Tobs hanging on for a one-run victory.
On Friday at Legion Field, Rob Kumbatovic helped Florence return the favor.

The Florence RedWolves will have to wait one more day to begin their season. Florence’s game Wednesday at Asheboro was rained out. The game will not be made up because it isn’t a divisional game.

Both the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and Florence RedWolves could not find safety from the rain on the road last night. Both teams had their games rained out.

Florence adds four more to its roster
FLORENCE — The Florence RedWolves announced the signing of four more players for their roster. Sophomore Herman Petzold, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound infielder from Notre Dame, junior pitcher Bruce Cameron, 6-0, 175 from the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark., Junior pitcher Andre Benjamin, 6-3 225 from Grand Valley State and sophomore Andrew Guerra, a 6-0, 175 infielder/outfielder from Saint Louis University, will join the team.

RedWolves give Legion Field a facelift
The RedWolves have increased attendance in each of the last seven seasons, but they’re not standing pat for 2008. The team has totally revamped their home Legion Field to help better enhance the fan experience.
