The Hartsville Planning Commission approved a request to allow a developer planning to renovate the former Lincoln Village Apartment complex to subdivide the property by building and sell individual pieces to investors on Tuesday.

The Florence County Planning Commission wants Quinby town officials to reconsider a request to rezone more than 21 parcels as residential although the land includes businesses and farmland in addition to homes.

As the summer comes to a close, Florence County officials are seeing the area is close to exceeding federally allowed amounts of the pollutant ground-level ozone.
