For the second time this season, Marlboro County was dealt a tough loss. After falling short against Conway earlier, the Bulldogs lost to Region 6-3A foe Crestwood Friday by a score of 38-35.

The Darlington Falcons took on the Marlboro County Bulldogs in prep football action on Friday in the first conference action for both teams. Marlboro County managed to hold on to a victory 26-18.

Bennettsville police said two Marlboro County teens are expected to be charged with assault after being accused of touching another student inappropriately.

The Bulldogs won their region last season and didn’t lose a game against a South Carolina school until the playoffs. The development of quarterback Elliot Alford was a big key to Marlboro’s success, and his continued improvement will be this year as well.
