National Guardsmen honor the memory of a superman
Over 150 U.S. National Guardsmen gathered at the Marion National Guard Amory located on Greene Street. Many of the soldiers haven’t seen one another in months but all arrived early Friday morning for a special tribute.

Marion’s Tiniest Little Foxes to take their fall walk
On Oct. 29, “Marion Tiniest Little Foxes” took a stroll down Main Street visiting downtown merchants with Halloween candy for the early trick-or-treaters.

Radioshack opens in Marion
The Greater Marion Chamber of Commerce welcomes a new businesss opening in town. This past Thursday members stopped by for a ribbon cutting event at Radioshack located along U.S. Highway 76 in front of Blackmon’s Piggly Wiggly.

Arts Council of Marion says Fall Arts Festival a success
The Arts Council of Marion County sponsored a two-part Fall Arts Festival this past Friday and Saturday. The art show featuring South Carolina artists was held at Charlin’s Shed in Marion and was hosted by Chuck and Linda Wiegert.
Students earn recognition for citizenship
The Marion Chamber of Commerce recognized four students for demonstration of exemplary citizenship during the October Marion School District One board of trustees meeting.

Marion to get $12,174 in federal funds
The city of Marion will receive $12,174 in federal funds through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program, U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham said in a press release issued Wednesday.
