Community, family members, students and teachers participated in “Rock and Read” at Marion Intermediate School on Oct. 28.

Local military veterans and their families were honored during a special ceremony at Marion Intermediate School on Friday, Nov. 6. 

Members of the University of North Carolina School of Arts, Open Dream Ensemble provided free performances for students at Marion Intermediate and Johnakin Middle School during special assemblies last Thursday. 

Marion School District One is one step closer to assisting teachers and students in the use of cutting edge technology, thanks to a $162,000 grant from the South Carolina Department of Education. 

One of the many groups to benefit from the fundraising efforts of the Marion Intermediate School students, teachers and staff has been the City of Marion’s new fire substation.
