Corvair club to sponsor Open Classic car show

The friends of the Horry County Museum will be sponsoring the fifth annual Tobacco Heritage Festival on Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Through their summer camps program, Mullins-based Wildlife Action Inc., has been raising awareness about the importance of natural resources since June.

From July 10-12, the City of Mayesville, in Sumter County, will have a weekend of celebration to commemorate what would have been Dr. McLeod-Bethune’s 134th birthday.

Beginning at 6 p.m. on June 26, a special event will take place in Grice’s Recreation Center at 603 Gurley Street in Marion.

The third workshop in a series about small businesses will be on May 19 and feature e-commerce. Speaker will be Tonia Speir, president of C.A.S.E. Solutions, an advertising and marketing firm out in Myrtle Beach. Call 423-8285 for details.

Beginning Friday night at 6 p.m. with the outdoor showing of a movie at Fox Field and a fireworks display, the 17th annual FoxTrot Festival will get underway.

Opening May 1 in the S.C. Confederate Relic Room & Military Museum, the exhibit “No Holier Spot of Ground: Confederate Memory in South Carolina’s Cemeteries, Monuments, and Museums” tells South Carolina’s story of memorializing the Confederacy through establishing burial arrangements, monuments, and museums.
