MARION COUNTY TECHNICAL EDUCATION CENTER HONOR ROLL – 1st QUARTER

For the fourth straight year, McCormick Elementary School held a Student Council election. 

Wal-Marts’ new Teacher Rewards Program helps 10 teachers at Easterling Primary, Marion Intermediate School and Johnakin Middle School offset rising expenses for classroom supplies.

Forty-four school districts are receiving approximately $7.3 million in federal Enhancing Education Through Technology (E2T2)/ARRA Round 9 Competitive Grants.

Marion School District One is one step closer to assisting teachers and students in the use of cutting edge technology, thanks to a $162,000 grant from the South Carolina Department of Education. 

Stacye Drose has been named Marion School District One Pee Dee International Reading Association Teacher of the Year for 2009-2010.

Three Marion School District One schools have selected Pee Dee International Reading Teacher Association (PDIRA) Teachers of the Year for 2009-2010. 

One of the many interests of today’s teen is to feel a part of a group, to “belong” in cyber communities such as MySpace, Facebook and Youtube.

Easterling Primary held its first PTO meeting for the 2009-2010 school year with a special “Goodies for Grandparents” celebration on Sept. 22.

Every year in America, schools are challenged with some strand of flu.  This year it is called either H1N1 or the Swine flu.

Over 600 elementary school students from Marion School District’s One and Two flooded the C.D. Joyner Auditorium with American flags waving and singing the Star Spangled Banner.

As visitors travel among the third and fourth grade classrooms at Marion Intermediate School, don’t be surprised to hear “bonjour” instead of “hello” as students greet you.
