Through contract negotiations, Marion County officials are attempting to erase a $134,000 debt it has with contractors who operate the Red Bluff C & D landfill site.

Application to spread sludge will likely lead to the Marion County Planning Commission creating a new ordinance to prevent such measures in the future. Additionally, at the group’s June 12 meeting, commissioners unanimously passed a motion to charge a fee of $250 for renaming roads.

Marion County Council unanimously passed two ordinances, an ordinance authorizing the issuance of a general obligation bond and an ordinance to amend Section 5-8 of the Marion Zoning Ordinance, at its brief meeting on June 11.
