Creek to get cleaning; Court to get new system
County Administrator Tim Harper told Marion County Council members during their meeting on Dec. 8 that he had just received word from the USDA Natural Resources and Conservation program that it has authorized more than a half a million dollars to clean out the county’s Catfish Creek.

Marion County Council cancels called meeting
The Marion County-owned property along U.S. Highway 76 near the corner of its juncture with Main Street may soon be offered for sale. County Council Committee 2 will have a meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 26 to discuss the county’s new family courtroom and the county’s animal shelter and council members had planned to meet on Aug. 19 in the administration office, but have canceled that meeting, according to the county’s Clerk to Council, Sabrina Davis.
