Carolina Entertainment Complex on U.S. Highway 501 in Marion County will be having a special show on April 4 to raise money for Paws to the Rescue. From camping to karaoke, the venue offers something for all members of the family.

During a public hearing about the county’s leasing of its animal shelter to Paws to the Rescue, the topic of fostering animals came up. The county will seek to clarify its position on the fostering of animals in the county.

New management is sheltering county’s animals

Marion County Council voted in August to pass management to the Surfside Beach-based group. Paws to the Rescue, a volunteer group led by Jennifer Nall, has previously worked with the shelter to rescue animals and prevent them as often as possible from being put to death. Now the group is managing the shelter.

Concert, auction to help Marion County animals

Paws to the Rescue’s first fundraiser for the Marion County Animal Shelter will be at Dusty Hills Country Club from 4-9 p.m. and will feature raffles and silent auctions, a barbeque plate dinner beginning at 5 p.m. ($6 each), and dancing to the sounds of the local group Southern Blue from 6-9 p.m.
