In a much needed region game, Mullins and Loris took it to overtime Friday as the Lions stunned the Auctioneers 21-14 Friday night.

No team turned more heads this summer then the Loris Lions. A team that scored only 6 points a game last year, and what minimal offense they had came on the ground, was suddenly competing with the big boys in passing league games.

Loris High School in Horry County and McDonald Elementary in Georgetown County are among sixteen South Carolina schools competing for the 2009 Carolina First Palmetto’s Finest Schools Awards.

Loris’s best player is gone, but their coach is back, and that’s good news for a school that’s needed some continuity.
