The S.C. Department of Consumer Affairs is partnering with the Florence County Public Library System to host sponsor a free shred day March 11.

A Florence company will build the new Johnsonville, Olanta and Timmonsville branch libraries for $3.15 million now that its bids have received Florence County Council’s approval.

The meeting room at the Drs. Bruce & Lee Foundation Library has been named in honor of a retired Francis Marion University history professor by the Friends of the Florence County Library.

Florence County Council on Thursday will hold a discussion about the Florence museum and could approve bids totaling more than $3.1 million for the construction of three new public branch libraries.
