Kingstree has decided to erect six highway markers proclaiming the town as the “Home of Dr. Henry N. Tisdale, The Eighth President of Claflin University.”

A 24-year-old Lake City man is in custody after police said he robbed a store and then led deputies on a high-speed chase across two counties.

Kingstree Federal Savings and Loan president James F. Cooper Jr. recently presented a symbolic check to Williamsburg Technical College president.

Incumbent Ken Kennedy easily held his office in House District 101, while Harry Lee Darby barely kept his seat on Williamsburg County Council.
