In her 30-plus years of working in human resources for the City of Florence, Darene Stankus said more people are applying for positions they probably never would have considered. City leaders said they normally see about two dozen people applying for their openings, but now they’re seeing nearly five times that amount.

Park officials say they anticipate filling 750 to 1000 positions; however that number could go up as time goes on.
