Foxes run away from Spring Valley
The Hartsville Red Foxes’ offensive lineman and running backs worked together Friday night to put up 418 yards rushing on the Spring Valley defense on their way to a 41-10 victory.

The Hartsville Red Foxes put the Wilson Tigers in a hole they couldn’t dig out of in the first half en route to a 55-28 win on Friday night. Five Foxes scored with Dre Scott’s three touchdowns leading the way.

Hartsville’s Lyles gets promoted
Jordan Lyles is moving up. The Hartsville native, a pitcher in the Houston Astros organization, was promoted Wednesday from Greeneville (Tenn.) of the Appalachian League to Tri-Cities (N.Y.) in the New York-Penn League.

Bulldogs top Foxes in opener
The Camden Bulldogs opened its 2008 football season with a win in one of the oldest prep football match ups in South Carolina defeating the Hartsville Red Foxes 26-14 at Kemp Stadium Friday night.

Notebook: Lyles’ first-round pick surprises Post 1
Florence Post 1 coach Derick Urquhart fully expected his No. 1 starter, Jordan Lyles, to be taken in last week’s MLB draft.
What no one expected was that he would go as high as he did. The former Hartsville standout was taken 38th overall by the Houston Astros and immediately seized the opportunity to live out his dream of playing in the big leagues.
