Lyles fans nine in loss

Former Hartsville standout Jordan Lyles had a season-high nine strikeouts over five innings in a 3-1 loss to the Charleston RiverDogs on Wednesday. Lyles, a member of the Lexington Legends, had previously struck out eight in two different games this season, including his last start.

The Hartsville High softball team fielded a fairly young team this year with only two seniors on the team. The season ended on Monday with a 4-2 loss to Wando.
