S.C. track athletes get a break at Olympic trials

Staley, staff try to revive Gamecock program
Twelve years after the trio helped the United States reclaim its women’s basketball dominance in Atlanta, Dawn Staley reunited with former Olympic teammates Nikki McCray and Carla McGhee at South Carolina, hiring them as assistants to revive the Gamecocks program.
South Carolina leads SEC academically
There are 105 Gamecock athletes being honored for their class work, the most among the SEC’s 12 schools. Georgia was second with 96 student athletes on the honor roll.
