Sergio Caridi, of Catskill, will serve three years in jail.

Crowd gathers in Florence for chance at bag of food

Seniors lined up across the parking lot, around the building corner and down Elm Street at Lighthouse Ministries Friday morning for a chance at a bag of food.  The parking lot at the ministries was full of both cars and people by 7:30 a.m. – an hour and a half before the event was slated to start.

Victim’s family appeals for public’s help in solving Florence County double homicide

It’s been a little more than a week since two people were shot and killed in Florence County. Deputies found the bodies of Talya Poston and Billy L. Hall on a dirt road just before noon last Tuesday, both had gunshot wounds.

House destroyed, firefighter injured in Florence blaze

A home was destroyed and a firefighter injured following an early morning fire Saturday. West Florence Fire Department responded to the fire about 3:15 after a motorist on Interstate 95 phoned 911 to report the blaze.

Florence authorities find Ford Explorer in investigation of double homicide

The green 2004 Ford Explorer investigators have been searching for in connection with a double homicide was found burned early Friday morning in the east Florence area, according to a press release from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
