Stephen Stanko received his second death sentence Thursday afternoon, this time for the fatal shooting of a 74-year-old man.

The federal case against a former Florence County sheriff’s deputy accused of killing his mother and stepfather was continued until the next term of court.

The Jonathan Chase Lee Scholarship has been established at Francis Marion University by his family. Lee, a senior from Marion High School, drowned in the Little Pee Dee River on May 22 after becoming trapped in a current.
