The S.C. Developmental Disabilities Council, Office of the Governor, has awarded a $1,170 grant to the Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board for Personal Outcomes Interviews by Self Advocates, and a $23,552 grant to the Marlboro County Disabilities and Special Needs Board for The Jolly Bean Coffee Shop.

BB&T and Turner Padget Graham & Laney are co-sponsoring a donation drive to benefit the Florence County Disabilities Foundation’s five thrift stores. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Friday in the parking lot of the BB&T Building, 1831 W. Evans St., Florence.

Tina was dressed to the hilt as she led Ike and Tina in a rousing rendition of “Proud Mary” to a first-place finish in “The Stars Are Out” talent show at Francis Marion University’ Robert E. McNair Auditorium on Friday.

The annual Celebrity Bar-B-Que Benefit for Florence County Disabilities Foundation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Meals will be available at at Roger’s Bar-B-Que in Florence and The Schoolhouse Restaurant in Scranton.
Schoolhouse Restaurant will cater the meals served at First Baptist Church in Johnsonville, as well, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The monthly meetings of the Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board (governmental entity), the Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board (nonprofit entity) and The Trellis Apartments Inc. will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at the Florence Administration Building, 1211 National Cemetery Road in Florence.
