15-year-old murder trial goes to court

The trial Sam Harmon, accused of killing a 10-year-old girl in 1993, began today in Dillon County. Police charged him with murder, kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct in August of 2005.

Street ball Classic set in Dillon this Sunday

The Summer Celebrity Street ball Classic will be in Dillon this Sunday. At half-time, gospel artist Kendra Smith of Dillon and the Dillon High School Band will perform. The event is a fundraiser for Smith and the band and tickets are $13 in advance and will be $18 at the door.

Wildcats still alive in 2A baseball finals

GILBERT — Behind three home runs and six strong innings from Travis Murphy, Dillon took game two on the road Wednesday to send the Class 2A baseball state championship series to its final game with a 5-1 win.
The Wildcats tied the best-of-three series at 1-1. Game three is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at West Florence High School.

Dillon fire kills 4, including 3 children

An early morning house fire claimed the lives of four people including three children in Dillon Tuesday. A fire official said that once firefighters were able to get in the home, they found the bodies of one adult and three children inside.

Dillon passes pit bull ordinance

Dillon City Council approved an ordinance Monday night that defines the pit bull as a dangerous animal and gives pit bull owners stricter guidelines.
