The Miss Darlington Scholarship Pageant committee presents “To Darlington with Love” this Saturday at the St. John’s Elementary School Auditorium. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.

Darlington High School held its Fall Sports Athletic Banquet on Wednesday to honor the school’s athletes.

Tommy Britt passed on a chance to go on to his reward when the small plane he was riding in to Daytona International Speedway around 15 years ago had engine problems, but his name was called on that roll up yonder Tuesday after a lengthy illness.

Darlington Police Chief Jay Cox was recently selected as chief of the year for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Victim Advocate Association.

The Children’s Trust of South Carolina (CTSC) is pleased to announce 2009-2010 grant awards totaling more than $260,000 to provide evidence-based child abuse prevention programs and other innovative parent support services across the state. 

A 10-year-old dog who went missing in Darlington for a month and two days was found knocking on death’s door.

For the 36th consecutive year, the Center Theater in Hartsville will be the site for the Little Miss and Teen Miss Hartsville and Darlington County beauty pageants. This event is a double pageant with winners crowned in each category, one representing Hartsville and one Darlington County. Winners will represent each area for 2009-10 and go on to compete in the state pageant in June.
