Marion County Combined Drug unit announce arrests

Marion County Sheriff Mark Richardson announced that Wayne McLaughlin, 48, of Mullins was found guilty after a jury trail Wednesday in General Sessions Court for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine base.  McLaughlin, owner of WT’s Lounge in Mullins, was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Atlantic Beach council meeting goes nowhere

Following a shooting early Sunday, some on council wanted to discuss providing the town with 24 hour police service. Council members planned to discuss the matter at Monday night’s meeting, but after more than an hour, members couldn’t agree on what to argue about.

Local man accused of robbing two neighbors

Police have arrested a Florence man on charges stemming from the robbery of two neighbors last week. Ronnie Michkel Drake, 20, of 1212 National Cemetery Road is charged with three counts of first-degree burglary, three counts of armed robbery and resisting arrest, Florence Police Lt. James Rogers said.

Nordstrom begins 21 year sentence in SC prison

A Murrells Inlet man, who pleaded guilty to multiple counts of felony DUI from a March 2007 began serving his 21 year prison sentence as a department of corrections inmate Wednesday night. A circuit court judge sentenced 26 year old Jeremy Michael Nordstrom last week in Conway.

Officers arrest seven, seize $224,900 in counterfeit goods

The Secretary of State’s Office partnered with the Horry County Police Department and the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office last weekend in separate stings to arrest seven men charged with distribution of counterfeit merchandise, illegal distribution of recordings, and trafficking in counterfeit goods.

Florence man faces drug, other charges

A Florence man was arrested Tuesday after deputies say they discovered about $8,000 in cocaine and marijuana in the sport utility vehicle he was driving, according to a press release issued Wednesday by the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.

A Florence man was arrested after police say he took two handfuls of cash from a convenience store Wednesday, Florence Police Lt. James Rodgers said.

Two Marion cousins charged in pit bull theft
