Belmont Abbey favored in Conference Carolinas preseason women’s soccer poll
The Belmont Abbey College women’s soccer team has been picked to lead Conference Carolinas for the third-straight year. The Abbey has won the conference title two out of the last three seasons, and returns 13 players from last year’s team that allowed just one goal en route to a perfect 11-0-0 mark in Conference play.

Coker announces basketball recruiting class
Dan Schmotzer decided to not look to far away from home for the core of his recruiting class. Coker’s 2008-2009 men’s basketball recruits were announced today and four of the seven are from the Palmetto State.

Stenman takes over Cobras’ volleyball program
Coker College announced Jon Stenman has been hired as the Cobras new volleyball coach.
Stenman takes the reins as the leader of the volleyball team after Chuck Mullen resigned to take a position at Division I St. Francis University (Pa).

Former H-P standout heads to Coker
As a senior softball standout at Hannah-Pamplico High School, Brittany Owens looked at Coker as one of her choices to continue her athletic career. Instead, she chose to play at Florence-Darlington Tech.
