Bears outlast Foxes in opener

Running back Darius Chestnut leads Carvers Bay with 169 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-24 victory over Marion at Fox Field this past Friday. The Bears running back gained steam in the second half as the first game of the season tested the endurance of the Foxes in the final two quarters.

Carvers Bay product OK’ed by the NCAA

Freshman defensive lineman Kwame Geathers has been cleared by an NCAA academic review to join the Georgia football team.  The Carvers Bay product had missed the first four days of workouts.

Lake View’s Quandon Christian and Carvers Bay’s Kwame Geathers both took it personally that they were not selected to a state all-star game.  They showed it in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl.  The duo paced Team East to a 29-3 defeat of Team West to improve to 3-0 in the series.
