Carolina Forest principal Velna Allen said she was anxious about the students returning to school Monday after Friday’s shooting and stabbing incident.
Allen said although she was anxious on Monday, the day was what she expected and she said knew students would rise to the occasion and day went very well.

The 15th Judicial Circuit Law Enforcement Network held a checkpoint in Carolina Forest on River Oaks Drive Friday night, between 8 p.m. and midnight. 

The construction to extend the left turn lane at Carolina Forest Boulevard is finished. The reason for the lane is to help ease the backup at the highway 501 intersection. But, despite the lane being less than one day old some drivers don’t like it.

Horry County Police is investigating a burglary of the Carolina Forest Blockbuster video store from the weekend.
