Curves raises money for children battling cancer

After balloons, presents and birthday cake, participants exercised to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Local St. Jude patient Kansas Cassidy turned 5 two days ago and celebrated with the women of Curves of Hartsville on Thursday.

Good Living Marketplace to celebrate first anniversary

The Good Living Marketplace in Hartsville will celebrate its first anniversary 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The brainchild of the Hartsville Downtown Development Association and the City of Hartsville, the marketplace began as a modest effort to offer a venue for local shops, farms and artisans. It has grown in to a community-wide gathering place and a center for information on local activities n addition to its original goal.
